 bootanim doesn't work quite right on F17 builds. The animation doesn't run
 properly, tty2 is left unusable after boot, and a black square is shown in
 X in the lower left as if the vt is being used as both a console and for
 X.

 Might be a good time to revive the efforts to move to plymouth (which may
 involve changing/improving plymouth at the same time).
