 Fixed with https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/portaudio-19-11.fc14

 Test case: this should say "hello" repeatedly rather than hanging after
 usually less than 2 minutes:
 {{{
  while espeak "hello"; do :; done
 }}}

 Pat, for future releases, re-evaluating PulseAudio is definitely the right
 thing to do and it would be great if you want to take up this project.
 Drop me an email if you are interested and I can provide some starting
 points, if you don't have them already. The spam filter is fixed now.
