 I can certainly understand that saving a very few bytes may not have a
 sufficient return on investment.  The perspective from which I am coming
 at this is that I am reviewing the packages to identify upstream L10n bits
 that should be tracked, and this one just jumped out at me as being an odd
 inclusion.

 I would like to propose a middle path.  I'm building a spreadsheet of the
 packages, their L10n process home (stats), and their PO file repo.
 Perhaps when that is more complete, we could review the sheet together and
 identify packages that are "just along for the ride" so we do not point
 our localizers at them.
