 Yes, there is no good reason for these packages to be included. Our build
 system does not request them. The reason that they are included is because
 they are a dependency of GNOME in Fedora.

 (you can use "rpm -e fprintd" to determine this - it is an unconditional
 dependency of GNOME's control center)

 This indeed should be improved - Fedora should be modified so that this is
 not a hard dependency. There are many such packages like this which
 could/should go, but removing them is not trivial and finding the time to
 work on this (balanced against more important issues) is hard.
