 Since we have been forced to provide both a somewhat charged battery and a
 DC power supply in order to reprogram the OFW SPI Flash ROM in an
 XO-1.75/3, the same should be required for the much more important EC
 reprogramming.

 Of course, a non-checking alternative (a la "flash!") is still desired.
