 Is the keyboard generating scancodes normally at the time?  Test with
 {{{
 echo 1 > /sys/module/i8042/parameters/debug
 }}}
 It might be worth comparing a normal resume with a failed resume.

 Are interrupts for i8042 being registered in /proc/interrupts?  (On os860,
 one is for keyboard, one is for touchpad).
