i've had a chance to try the script, and i see the same disruptive
behavior on resume described by carrott. (i can't actually get my
touchpad to misbehave, so i can't actually speak to the script fixing

i assume (though don't know for sure) that the script should only be
necessary after a resume from "dark suspend" (i.e., induced by lid or
power button), since power is maintained to the keyboard and touchpad
during idle suspend. so the interruption of touchpad operation might be
less noticeable in actual implementation. but it does take quite a long
time, so i don't believe its operation will ever be completely hidden.

conclusion: i still feel that requiring this script for proper touchpad
 operation is unacceptable.
