 A few months ago it was a 'subject to debate' requirement; depending on
 whom you talk to, it is or is not necessary to support upgrades with
 XO-1.75 motherboards from older laptops with ALPS keyboards.

 Personally I don't know if we have to support it for the first 1.75
 release; but it is definitely a nice-to-have for the future.
