Comment(by sridhar):

 BTW "Quozl's test" referred to in my last message is the set of
 reproduction steps explained in the description for this ticket. The
 problem can be replicated with this method in both OFW and X (Sugar).

 Furthermore, I was able to replicate through 'normal' use in Turtle Art
 (Blocks). Occasionally while moving the blocks around, they would jump.
 Then after this I started moving the pointer normally, and it continued to
 jump around unpredictably. If I took my finger off the pad and waited a
 second, the problem would usually go away.

 My thought so far is that this is annoying, but not fatal, for normal use.
 Where it will become more disruptive is where finer motor control is
 needed.

 A software fix will be easier to get out to deployments. Can we compensate
 for the hardware behaviour in the driver?

 Incidentally, carrott indicated that we're not the only ones who have been
 [http://www.electricvagabond.com/2008/12/msi-wind-touchpad-mods-sentelic-
 becomes.html burnt] by Sentelic pads (although this was three years ago).
