 in the jammed state, power button single press, then mouse move, unjams.

 in the jammed state, ''chvt 2 && sleep 2 && chvt 1'' ... unjams.

 after the first rotate key but before the second, the touchpad events are
 compressed.

 after the second rotate, the touchpad events are ineffective, and a
 process "xrandr --query" triggered by olpc-rotate is stalled on the
 system.

 the X process is consuming available CPU time.
