Comment:

 the 1.75 B1 units that we're starting to use have a touchpad that the
 kernel identifies as:
 {{{
  ImExPS/2 Generic Explorer Mouse
 }}}
 and it has tap-to-click enabled.

 it's been a long time since i've booted a Sentelic machine, so i don't
 know if that's what this is or not.  wad tells me quanta may be sourcing
 yet another vendor's touchpad as well.

 i can't remember where we are with possibly moving to the synaptics driver
 for all our touchpads -- that might be necessary in order to get uniform
 (non-)tap-to-click behavior across all our hardware.
