 Even though it's closed, Lennert says:

 * Spent some time looking at why #10991 triggers at all, but still
  failing to understand what's going on, as the kernel has all the
  appropriate cache handling code for both the v6 and the v7 modes of
  operation of the PJ4 CPU core, and should choose the right mode at
  run time, and should bail out if the CPU is in a mode for which
  support has not been built into the kernel image.
