 The group working with OLPC's in New York City Schools in 2008 also
 encountered this, and proposed a solution:

 networks/

 However their solution (using an activity to launch a shell script to
 configure the ESSID/key) might not work nowadays, as said activity has
 depreciated itself due to enhanced sandboxing of activities.
