 At least in my testing it was just an issue of the machine being absent
 during the time of communication.

 Simon, try this:

  1. Power on laptops A and B
  2. Let B idle-suspend; do not let A idle-suspend
  3. Share an activity on A while B is suspended
  4. Wake up laptop B
  5. Spend 5 minutes continually maintaining both laptops awake, don't let
 them suspend

 At least when I tested before, the shared activity will appear. but step
 #5 is a real pain.
