 This specific information helps you to replicate what I did (if you do not
 trust what I said).  But in my experience developers tend to claim that
 problems experienced by users are the fault of the particular tools/data
 that happened to be used (rather than such observations being pertinent to
 the system on which those tools were being run).

 What I wish is that you would offer a counter-example, rather than
 starting to pursue a path which might focus on user-space software
 (instead of on kernel-space software).

 [When in 2008 I posted to the developers list that [at the time] the XO-1
 could only show "snapshots" rather than actual "moving pictures" (no
 matter which application I tried to run) -- I was told (since I had
 mentioned MPlayer as an example) to send a bug report to MPlayer (i.e.,
 never mind whether the OLPC was then capable/not_capable of rendering
 "moving pictures").]
