 To fix this properly, quite some design and effort is needed. Running fsck
 while the partition is mounted RW is a bad idea (and it may even refuse)
 and various parts of the partition *are* mounted as RW bind ounts by the
 initramfs before init is run. I'm not even sure if remounting those binds
 as RO would cause the underlying mount to change, which at init-time has
 fallen out of the namespace.
