 So I finally got around to playing with this...I can record video just
 fine - sort of.  It's clearly dropping a lot of frames, 90%, say, when
 running at 30fps.  It doesn't fill them in in any way, so when I play back
 the resulting video, I get a rather amusing fast-motion version of myself,
 as if I'd had waaaaay too much coffee.

 But I believe the problem to be in gstreamer (which can't keep up with the
 data).

 I'm not quite sure what's different about my environment.  I'm running
 from a USB stick rather than the built-in flash; not sure about everybody
 else.
