 yes.  I ran "software update" (and let it update the just-reverted
 Record-81 up to Record-82).  That got rid of the Record-79 stuff in
 shell.log.  But the Record-82 still blew when clicking on the button to
 stop recording audio.

 That gave me a clue to the reason for #10183 !!

 I normally run ALL my OLPC builds with 'python-psyco'.  When I removed
 that package from my os204, and launched a clean Record-82, it correctly
 saved the audio clip it was creating.
 [Note that Record-81 runs o.k., even if 'python-psyco' is in the system.]
