 I just got another one.

 Again, the last thing on the screen was "Leaping..."


 It may be that the trick to provoking this quirk on my system is to leave
 it turned off for a while.  It was was just sitting there, plugged in with
 a good battery, because I had forgotten to boot it after turning it off
 cleanly when the WiFi hung in LED off mode.
