 Based on the stop-logging effect, this is almost certainly caused by
 exhaustion of the limited amount of memory that has been assigned for Open
 Firmware's use.

 This problem should be relegated to a different ticket, and assigned to
 the person who asked for the logging facility.  His name starts with "p".
 One possible solution avenue is to make the logger use a ring buffer
 instead of resizing its buffer as necessary.
