 Finally tracked down the serial number --- it is SKU D0, using a Sandisk
 C2 4GB micro SD card.

 Since a reformat fixed the problem, this was not a catastrophic hardware
 failure.  We were seeing a number of SD errors with ext4, which have not
 been seen with ext3.
