 the fix for #9636 was to limit the size of our tmpfs-based filesystems.
 the limit chosen (and implemented in /etc/sysconfig/readonly-root) was 1
 Megabyte, which is awfully small.  it doesn't take much in the way of
 debug logging to overflow a megabyte.

 i'd propose this be changed to at least 10 or 20 megabytes, but i'm not
 really sure how to arrive at a "good" number.
