Comment:

 Mikus -- I tried about a dozen times, and I cannot repro. The new code
 tries to switch to the right VT several times, so even if something
 switches away, it will get switched back again.

 What I saw is consistent with this new code -- even in shutdowns when
 something takes us back to VT1, the code switches correctly to the VT with
 the UL graphic. It has never failed to shutdown here.

 Can you confirm you are using 802b1? - check the build name in
 /boot/olpc_build
