#9943: 802B1 - shutdown process stops in text console without showing the U/L

 Rather than reopen #7531, I've written a new ticket.

 On about 1/4 to 1/2 of the shutdowns I've done on 802B1 systems, the
 shutdown process stalls with a text tty showing. [The last messages that
 had been written there are "waiting for X server to shut down" and "xinit:
 unexpected signal 15" -- but I consider those messages NORMAL, with no
 direct bearing on the shutdown process stall problem.] I wait more than
 15 minutes, but nothing happens.

 To get out of this stall situation, I press ctl-alt-F2 -- that brings up
 the U/L warning screen, and allows the shutdown process to proceed to
 normal completion.

 [[BR]][Note: One situation where this (sometimes) happens is:  reboot;
 from Home click on Journal; in Journal click on an entry for Terminal:
 in Terminal enter 'su' then enter 'shutdown -r now'.]

 ----
 #7812 and #9319 appear to be duplicates of #7531, and thereby also of this
 ticket.
