Comment:

 I'd like to hear from wad on this.

 Engineering a response to obviously defective hardware is problematic; it
 is not clear if every instance of defective hardware will react in the
 same way, defective hardware is not intended to be used, and defective
 hardware does not always reliably reproduce a symptom.

 For the moment, warn technicians that a defective card may cause a reboot
 during OpenFirmware tests.

 I've adjusted the ticket summary, it was worded as an enhancement request.

 I've no samples of this defective hardware, so I can't yet look at the
 problem in detail.
