 i think we should bump this in priority, a bit.  i've been using my laptop
 as an e-reader a lot recently, and i keep getting an unwanted right-button
 click on the mouse, which results in an unwanted dropdown menu in the
 middle of my book page.

 i agree that having the OS do this (and not the EC) is the right approach,
 but doing it in the kernel involves coordination between a couple of
 different drivers (ebook switch detection in ACPI, and the mouse and
 keyboard ps2 drivers).  user-level control would make more sense, but i
 know of no interfaces for sending arbitrary commands to a mouse or
 keyboard from user-level.  anyone know differently?
