 It's a Linksys (ID 13b1:0018) and it's usually very reliable on the XO-1.
 But on os850 in Gnome it poops out constantly and my ext3 drive gets
 corrupted at the same time.  I don't have problems with any devices when I
 boot into in single user mode on os850, i.e.
 /etc/inittab/id:1:initdefault:

 I'm not terribly concerned that my network connection goes down, though
 that's irritating, but I am rather bothered when my ext3 USB drive is
 corrupted and I can't recover the data despite my best fscking efforts.
