Comment:

 Tested on os121 across two C1 and one B2.

 With the speaker gain at maximum, a recording of my ordinary voice level
 500mm from the microphone was difficult to hear on playback.

 However, on the C1s (not on the B2) increasing the ''Digital'' control in
 ''alsamixer'' from the default of 50% to about 75%, resulting in a much
 louder and clearer recording.

 Curiously, this ''Digital'' control does not appear until after Record has
 been started.
