 there's some amount of demand for a way to disable tap-to-click on the
 CL1A and CL1B (i.e., 1.5) laptops.

 until someone figures out how to do this "correctly" by enabling the
 synaptics driver in the kernel and making the upper layers work correctly
 with it, the attached patch is a possible stopgap.  it allows selecting
 whether to enable tap-to-click at module load time (i.e., at boot).

 (disable tap-to-click by putting the attached .conf file into
 /etc/modprobe.d)

 related bugs are #959, and #9775.  in particular, re: #9775 -- the patch
 is currently written to do nothing if the synaptics driver is available.
 but in #9775, it appears that the driver is present, but disabled.
 perhaps the current mechanism would help in that case as well, in which
 case the ifdefs should go away.
