 Running os9, my XO-1 screen stays at full brightness no matter what.

 The same system with os8 would after a period of no console activity dim
 the screen, and eventually go into suspend.  With os9, no dimming; no
 automatic suspend.  Even when I cause the os9 system to go into suspend by
 closing the lid (the power light pulses slowly), the screen appears to
 remain bright.
