Comment:

My concern is "how to update the internal SD on the XO-1.5?" when
something vital (e.g., olpc.fth) is incorrect (and prevents booting).
[I've applied quite a bit of post-install customization to my system --
for me re-installing from scratch (i.e., reflashing the XO-1.5) is time-
 consuming.]

For the XO-1, I have USB sticks with recent builds that I can use as
"rescue systems". [I boot from USB, 'mount' the jffs2 filesystem, and
make changes.] I would like to have such an "external rescue" capability
 for the XO-1.5.
