#9674: os40 sometimes shows corrupt "U/L Cautions" screen when I shut down

 This occurs randomly - sometimes the "U/L Cautions" is pure - but on
 several occasions after I had typed 'shutdown -r now', some text lines
 (they didn't appear to be in a contiguous block) from the initial boot
 process are displacing portions of the graphical "U/L Cautions" images.
 Looks icky.
