 Another option, this one with an implementation plan: How about we
 reimplement olpc-dm, this time as a "real DM" that runs inside of X rather
 than being a launcher for it, but as a really simple with DM with the
 following behaviour:

 If never launched a DE before, launch sugar.
 If the DM was launched because the user logged out of their DE, then
 launch the other DE.
 Otherwise, launch the DE that was launched the last time around.

 Then we can rename the Logout option in Sugar to "Switch desktop
 environment" or something. What do you think?
