 Agreed.

 XO-1 build 802 solves this with link-local multicast by adding a multicast
 route only:

 {{{
 ip route add 224.0.0.0/4 dev msh0
 }}}

 Tested this on os63, replacing msh0 with eth0, results in activity sharing
 working correctly.

 So the workaround is rephrased, and will not have the problems of adding a
 bogus default route.
