 Michael, my understanding is that the BadAlloc are unrelated to the
 available memory. At least part of them, surely are. See this:

 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424333

 The testcase there will happily crash your normal laptop with gigs of mem
 and a swap device.
