Journal entries, and therefor with the Design proposal for showing most
recent Journal entries on the Home view (icon click resumes most recent,
hover over icon and use palette to select one of last N Journal entries
for that Activity), running activities would be at the front of the queue.

the open instance, so this behaviour 'just' needs to move to the Home
view. Sorry if I missed some other behaviour subtlety you were shooting
for.
You're right. The page says "Pressing the ALT key while in home will
transition all of the activity icons to their raw, uninstantiated
representation, allowing more advanced users to create new instances
without needing to access their palettes.". This implies that clicking on
icons without holding ALT will launch the most recent instance.
My only addition would be to mark the icons of Activities that have open
instances, so that users can see which ones are running without pressing
any keys. Also, I'm not sure if switching directly to a running Activity
should be listed under "Resume" in the palette, but I'm not going to get
worked up over it.
