 I don't understand what you mean here.  No reboot is necessary; updated
 activities take effect immediately.  If you olpc-update, the button won't
 come up until you are running the new core OS (since the new activities
 might be incompatible in various ways with the old OS).  When #7618 is
 implemented (in 9.1), then you'll get a button suggesting you reboot in
 order to update your activities.
