Comment:

 I have verified that this problem exists. In order to fix a laptop that
 cannot run video-chat for this reason the following command is required:
 {{{
 gconftool-2 --type string -s /system/gstreamer/0.10/default/videosrc
 v4l2src
 }}}

 We need to get this into the build as a default value.
