 i believe that the program didn't work for me because i was using the
 check key on the gamepad keys. when i would press it, it would look like
 it was initiating...the "begin measuring distance" would turn into "stop
 measuring distance" indicating it was ready to go. however, it never
 connected with the other XOs and vice versa. when i used the cursor to
 press on the "begin measuring distance" it worked fine.

 not sure if this is a bug still.
