Comment:

 Your connection was established, but then shortly after either the kernel
 driver or the USB ethernet hardware flaked out:

 Presumably this is when you noticed that things seem to be set up
 correctly but no connectivity was possible.

 NetworkManager noticed the breakage so tried to find connectivity on the
 mesh. It failed after a few minutes as expected, so went back to the wired
 connection and re-established it OK.

 Please open another bug if you'd like someone to follow this up. It's not
 related to what was described here.
