Switching between activities is probably the worst time to initiate
automatic saves of the activities which we are switching from. Saving
requires system resources (CPU, memory access) which are crucial to
providing a smooth and rapid transition between windows. When we autosave
we slow down the process of getting from one activity to the other.

To resolve this issue we should at very least enable a 'no auto save'
configuration of Sugar. A better solution would be to change the way in
which we autosave, either by tracking which activities actually need to
save state, or by automatically saving after some period of user idle
 time.
