 'I checked the Newsreader Activity  again this afternoon. Most of the
 features are  now working:

 BBC World News, Commons Picture of the day, Earth Science PoD, and
 Wikipedia Picture of the Day are all working!

 However, the functional test described on the wiki
 (http://wiki.laptop.org/go/News_Reader) fails. Planet OLPC is still
 "Waiting for first poll". But, I don't think you need to worry about that!

 BBC Learning English  opens with files from 4 days ago.  All features
 can be accessed, but sound files require either Windows Media Player or
 Real Player to listen online. The crossword tries to load but can't
 because it needs Flash. So there isn't much you can use there at this
 time.

 However...you can enjoy the Pictures of the Day and the news.  Now if we
 could just fix it so the news was more "good" news, that would really be
