 I tried to resolve this a while back and realized that it requires a re-
 factoring of some of the code.  The primary issue is that the click on the
 star causes a metadata write in the Journal, which presently, via a
 signal, causes a refresh of the ''entire'' Journal, redrawing every
 visible entry instead of just the one which changed (or, ideally, none,
 since the star button initiated the change and already redrew itself).
