Comment:

 I think this problem is significantly reduced in current builds.  As
 mentioned above, we'll have less RAM hungry activities.  Additionally, the
 new startup feedback is designed to prevent kids from launching many
 activities at once, due to impatience or sluggishness in launch times.
 Also, the launch speeds themselves have improved.

 Imposing a hard cap on the number of open activities is a potential fail-
 safe, but I'd rather not have to resort to that.  It can be valuable in
 itself to teach kids the reality of resource constraints, and also
 beneficial to their work habits to focus on an immediately useful set of
 activities.
