New description:

 Ben Schwartz found this issue by launching some activities, deleting
 /home/olpc/isolation, and restarting rainbow. The resulting traceback is
 attached. How should we fix this bug?

 (Rainbow's spool format and usage are described at
 [http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Taste_the_Rainbow].)
 This was tested with rainbow-0.7.10 in update.1-706.
