 See below for previous email conversation. I've attached an
 org.laptop.Chat.log as an example of the failure to allow test input
 during a chat. I know the other participants were active as I immediately
 went and enabled extra logging, then managed to attach to the chat 4 times
 after and did not get the error (damn). I'm wondering now if this bug
 shows up on first connection? I've hit it 10s of times before on previous
 attempts, but just given up after the first fail.
