Comment(by pschemp):

 Just in case anyone wants to know, the XO sees these access points just
 fine but Sugar asks for a key or passcode whereas when it is supported it
 asks for a username and password. Public schools are subject to the laws
 of the state which increasing require secured, encrypted networks.
