Many educational institutions and public schools (the entire Texas public
university system for example) use the 802.1x protocol for wireless
authentication. (My guess is the Cisco schmoozed the state legislature but
nevertheless it is used in a lot of places. The fact that iPhones don't
support it has made them a problem at schools also.) Currently Sugar does
not support it. Warning - This is a different thing from 802.11b or g -

There is Linux support for this, (It supports EAP) but obviously there is
no way for XO users to connect through the normal Sugar GUI atm.
Discussed this on #olpc but won't paste logs due to freenode policy. Filed
bug report so official request to add can be documented.
