Comment(by chihyu):

 Tested on 3 machines with update.1 689, q2d08.

 The machines don't seem to be affected at all by lid closing:
  * the power indicator remains on
  * both wireless indicators remain on/flashing
  * the screen remains on

 Is this due to the "downgrade" to q2d08?
