Comment:

 Im all for finger granularity here, assuming that we can measure signal
 strength accurately and consistently enough to make it useful.  We can
 start with the fill on the circle for sure, as that was designed with the
 possibility of later increasing the number of intervals in mind.  If that
 still doesn't suffice, I would consider a meter within the palette as
 well.
